Developmental

Hi Mummies! I have a 14 months old baby. I may be overthinking but im worried with the face that he have yet to clap nor wave his hands. He started taking his first steps at 11 months old. Walking is perfect. Any mummies with same situation as i am? Please share any developmental delays that can be worrying but nothing of concern.#pleasehelp #firstbaby

I really feel you on this, being a first-time mum means every little thing can feel so worrying, and it is completely okay to feel that way. Every child develops at their own pace, and the fact that he is already walking so well at 14 months is honestly a great sign. That said, since clapping and waving are things the PD will look out for during developmental checks, it might be good to bring up your concerns at his next visit or even make a separate appointment just to get some peace of mind. Having a professional take a look is always the best move, and you are doing the right thing by paying attention to these things early.
