How to stop milk production

Hi mummies, how do you stop milk production other than stop/reduce pumping and cold cabbage. I was given a medication to stop milk production and used cold cabbage for few days but seems like my nipple is still leaking milk and i have a few clogged ducts. Im trying not to hand express as im scared itll trigger more milk production again. Any products that helps ? #desperatemom

Honestly, the leaking and clogged ducts at this stage can be really uncomfortable, what helped a few mums I know was wearing a firm (but not too tight) supportive bra consistently, because apparently the wrong fit can actually make the clogged ducts worse and slow down the whole drying-up process. For the clogs themselves, ibuprofen can help bring down the swelling and pain without stimulating more milk the way expressing does, and you can take it alongside paracetamol if needed. My neighbour went through something very similar and she said the key was just being patient and not panicking into expressing, the leaking does taper off, it just takes longer than most people expect. That said, since you're already on medication to stop production and still having clogs, it's really worth going back to your doctor or a lactation consultant to check, because clogged ducts that linger can sometimes develop into mastitis and that needs proper treatment early.
