Chicken puree

Hey mummies. Hope u all dont find my qns silly. My bb just turn 6 mths and i wan to introduce him to chicken. I have never handle raw chicken before. I have a qns. Do i need to rinse the chicken with water first before steam? Or i can just cut the chicken and put it into the steamer. Or is boiling a better method?

No you don't wash chicken. Washing the chicken might spread the bacteria around your kitchen on things you don't think to wash. Cooking the chicken thoroughly will kill the bacteria. There is a lot of food safety advice on this. Please do not wash your chicken. Chicken is also a bit tough at this stage for them, both methods you mentioned is ok to cook, but on top of pureeing it, you might want to see if you can grind it down even further by pushing it through a sieve. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/commentary/wash-raw-chicken-meat-poultry-food-safety-poisoning-salmonella-3187411 Veg and fruit, yes wash because they spray pesticides and fertilizers. You want to get that off. But not Poultry.

I always wash the chicken first before cooking. You don’t know how the raw chicken is being handled before purchasing so you should always wash your food before cooking it. I mean you do wash your vegetables first before cooking too right…?

I usually rinse first just to get rid of any unwanted debris tt may get stuck to the chicken during its processing. steam or boil also can.
