Antenatal class
Hi mummies, did you guys went for antenatal class ? Is it recommended and beneficial ? As its quite costly. Kkh ones are always full so i thought of going myfirstlovesg. However i couldnt find any review on it. #FTM
personally, i feel it depends on how far u r into your pregnancy now and what is the crucial topic u wanna learn. for me, we attended nuh class cause we wanted to learn bathing and how to take care of bb as we have no external help when bb is out. we went towards the end of preg as we were afraid we might forget if taken too early. the majority of the class topic was on preg diet, exercise, massage which was not beneficial to us as I was alrdy gg to give birth 😅 and I felt alot could be "googled". the bathing and taking care bb section is not comprehensive and there is no hands on at all. if your crucial learning topic is same as us or u are hiring a confinement nanny or have experienced parents/in laws with u at home , then I dont think u need to attend the class. save the money lol
Read moreNot planning to go for it. They have those free online seminars tho, I'm planning to register for those. Then I think I also just registered for the pregnancy seminars at those expos (e.g mummy's market). They have those once in a while and although it is just watching and listening and isn't do-it-yourself, they are very cheap. Will learn on the job with my confinement nanny instead. My colleague says that even if you attend, you'll forget many things in the course and have to google them in the end. Also, the best way is to join those mummy groups and anything just post pics or ask in the group chats instead.
Read morehi! I actually attended the KKH one, it was beneficial, to some extend - watching the nurse demostrate how to bath the baby, dietician speak on pregnancy diet and specialist talk about pain reduction options during labour 👍🏼it is costly but overall worth it cos it got the ball rolling for my husband and I to prepare for the baby's arrival 👍🏼
Read morei didnt go for any classes even for my first one. i just hired an experienced confinement nanny who taught me everything i needed to know about caring for baby.
Its best to learn from the ppl around u. observe, ask and watch youtube. Relax dont panic. evrything will fall into places.
