Irregular bleeding or spotting is actually one of the most common side effects of Nexplanon. Some women have no periods at all, some have occasional spotting, and some experience prolonged bleeding. Unfortunately, there's no set timeline—some people's bleeding settles after a few months, while others continue to have irregular bleeding for as long as the implant is in place. That said, bleeding continuously for 5 months is definitely worth discussing with your doctor if you haven't already. They can check whether the bleeding is related to the Nexplanon alone or if there's another cause, and sometimes there are treatment options that can help manage the bleeding.
