Rosemary oil and caster oil in pregency
Hi mommies there, I am in the second trimester and i have been using rosemary oil(4 drops) for my head massage, but just now i have found out that expecting mother shouldn’t be used rosemary oil. Any suggestions or I am confused

Hey, don't worry too much, you've used it just a few times with a small amount, so you should be fine! That said, most mums I know who've checked with their doctors are advised to skip rosemary oil from now on, mainly because it can stimulate blood circulation quite a bit during pregnancy, and there's not enough research to say it's completely safe, especially with something as potent as essential oils. The good news is that four drops on your scalp washed out is unlikely to cause issues, but probably best to switch to something gentler for your head massages going forward, maybe just a plain coconut or almond oil instead. Since you're in your second trimester, definitely mention this to your OB or midwife at your next visit just to put your mind at ease, but honestly most mums in your situation have had no problems. Better safe than sorry with the little one though, so maybe avoid it for the rest of your pregnancy and breastfeeding too if you're planning to nurse.
