I had a similar problem. I used up my sick leave as I had morning sickness and fell sick couple of times in my 1st and 2nd trimester… I then started to have severe back pain in 3rd trimester, went to govt hospital A&E but was told that Dr. not allowed to issue HL unless you’re seriously ill and need to be hospitalised…I was worried I had to eat into my AL or take NPL and I didn’t want to start my maternity leave early… It is really exhausting to go to work almost everyday as you go into 3rd trimester and I regretted taking MCs for the morning sickness because the back pain, breathlessness and the fatigue was a lot worse! I eventually decided to see a specialist (not gynae) in a private hospital for my recurrent back pain, got admitted for 1 night in a private hospital and got HL to rest at home for a few weeks.
discuss with ur gyn dr, usually if is very bad morning sickness they will give HL, and u hv to req for it. mostly pte dr r more fixable.
it depends on the gynae..sometimes no serious medical condition they wont give..
