Amniocentesis Test

Hi Mommies, I would like to check if anyone has taken Amniocentesis test to check for down syndrome and experiences? I am 37 years old and I intended to take the nipt blood test but my doctor advised that the result would not be accurate as I have 2 sacs, 1 is empty and 1 is healthy fetal and advised me to straight take the Amniocentesis test or not do anything. The test has 1% miscarriage risk. Please let me know if you have experience such situation or have tried alternative methods. Thanks
