If your financially allows, best to have insurances. If not, atleast get a hospital plan and an accident plan. Hospital plan - young children has high risk to get sick and might need to be hospitalised. Accident plan - Same, young children has high risk of accident and sick. This plan cover most of the accidents even if only like fall down and need to see doctor.. HFMD, diarrhea, food poison and etc... After all, you need to make an appoinment with your agent so that he or she can explain and avise to you. I would recommend you to hear out the plans from at least two agents (from different insurance company). You could compare the plan and check if the plan suit you before purchase. In fact, i have two agents. Both children's plans are from different insurance companies. Personally, second agent is more resourceful and helpful. Even though my 1st child's insurances are not under her care but she does help me a lot with the claims and process. I could recommend her to you if you wish to hear out from her.:)

I’ve bought only hospitalisation insurance for my kids, because I think that’s the most important. Didn’t buy life insurance for them, because I’d hate the thought of them dying and then getting money from it. They can buy it themselves next time. My parents got me to buy life insurance just before I turned 21 because the premium is much cheaper than buying at an older age. It’s probably what I’d do for my children. When the kids go to primary school, I think there should be a group accident coverage, if they still keep up that practice from last time.

Yes, I bought health aka hospitalisation insurance for my LO when she was 2 weeks old. I was worried as medical bills in Singapore is not cheap in the event that she falls sick in future. It’s better to buy when they are still young and relatively healthy so that there won’t be any exclusion/further underwriting required.

Yes most impt is the hospitalisation and riders. Nothing else matters more. My girl got admitted for bronchitis twice in 2 years after getting it. So bills got covered. Thankfully. Insurance is about being prepared for the unexpected. After settling their protection needs, u can then consider the rest. :)

I think you should only buy insurance if u can afford it,because ..buying insurance is a commitment. In life, there's always ups & downs.Have trust in God,that's more important, because your life & family's depend on it.

Best to buy! My son was warded in a B1 ward for 5 days. Total hospital fee was $950. All paid by insurance. On top of that insurance will pay me $300 for each day of hospitalisation. Under Aviva

Yes, definitely need to buy. I bought while I was pregnant, and transferred to them after they were born. I also bought additional hospitalisation and personal accident plan for them

Yes basic is H&S. Life insurance and personal accident insurance is also recommended if your cash flow allows
