Dilated without contractions

Hi mommies, anyone experienced cervix dilated without feeling any contractions? Is it possible?

I had contractions at 4cm but I didn’t feel any pain strangely. Started feeling more at 5cm then took epidural. My waterbag burst too & still no pain
