First pregnancy, anxious with tons of questions

Hi all Mom's!! This is my my first pregnancy and I got tons of questions that need guidance from fellow experience moms. I just found out 1 week ago and went through polyclinic route to KKH. The first check I notice that KKH wait is super long even though u had an appointment date. Is this normal? Also, during the consultation/scan, the doctor seems to be very distracted/blur. Even after informing that I am not working currently, the doctor proceed to ask again if I needed HL (abit concern if they are really giving full attention when attending to me). Then during the check, especially ultra sound scan, when using transvaginal U/S it hurts. When feedback the doctor just said this is the max u will feel. Then continue to put pressure and it is really uncomfortable. I am wondering if this Is normal for mommies that go through KKH route?

Hey, congrats on your pregnancy! I totally understand the anxiety, first time is always nerve-wracking, and you want to feel heard. The long waits at KKH are pretty common from what I hear, even with an appointment slot. A friend went through the polyclinic route too and said she waited quite a while most visits, so you're not alone there. As for the consultation feeling rushed, honestly, some mums have mentioned the same thing, that doctors seem a bit distracted or the appointment feels very quick. It's frustrating when you have so many questions, especially early on. On the transvaginal ultrasound pain though, I'd really flag this one with your doctor at the next visit, or even call ahead to mention it. It shouldn't hurt that much. Everyone's different, but if it felt genuinely uncomfortable rather than just pressure, it's worth checking in, they may need to adjust technique, or there could be something else going on that's worth exploring. Since this is your first time, you might also want to chat with your own GP or midwife about whether KKH feels like the right fit for you, or if there are other options that click better with your style. Trust matters a lot when you're pregnant. All the best with everything!
