Using nail clipper on bed

My mil was trying to cut my little one finger nails and she can only do it when she is asleep on my bed. She did it when i am not on the same bed. But i am now pregnant, understand that cutting things or having sharp objects on the mother's bed is a taboo. Just want to know is it really true? Gosh... i so worried. :(
