Anyone else mixed BM w FM cos low supply? Like 30ml per session or less cos no time pump cos solo.
Low supply, LO dont latch, had to pump but no time. Feel like giving up but guilty. How long u lasted?
Hi there, I started off with very low supply too, 20ml after like 30min pumping from both sides, in spite of eating things that supposedly help boost supply. Did mixed feeding too. Other mums in my EDD-month group chat were always posting pics of their two full bottles from each pump session. I was stressed and upset and wondering what was wrong with me. To make it worse, I kept getting painful clogged ducts even though my supply was low. I really felt like quitting, but decided to give it one last shot by engaging a lactation consultant. Basically her advice is to just keep latching. Very simple advice that I paid $$ for, hahaha, but it changed things. My supply increased after all the latching and has regulated such that supply meets demand. Long story short, I am now at the 1-year mark of exclusive breastfeeding. You may want to look up online on how you can get baby to latch. But, even if it doesn't work out, don't stress about it! And don't feel guilty, because you've tried your best for your baby! ♡
Read moreSame here! My 1st child BM last for only1 month. Nobody advise me for with inverted nips, diff on latching. Pump with manual which is tiring and time consuming. No choice with FM during newborn too. Mix. 2nd child, at 1 year old now, BM same lasted for a month only. Tried BM with the Haakaa Silicone Pump, which is better than manual press and electric pump.. FM fed during newborn too even till now. How i Wish to be like 6 mths plus or even a year. Haha dream on. lol. Now baby fully on FM with solid food. Cheers, dont give up, mothers feel u, same feelings.
Read morei’m still mixed feeding too at 5mths pp. almost gave up at the start bc i was so demoralized, but i came across an advice that breastfeeding is not all or nothing! every little bit we do is beneficial for our bb ♥️ my supply also slowly increased after i accepted that it’s okay to give fm for some feeds and let go of this expectation that i must “exclusively breastfeed”. jiayou mummy!

I mixed too cos not enough supply. gave BM in the day and FM at night. did this till bb was almost 1. doesn't matter bm or fm, so long bb is well fed. most impt not to stress yourself. stress reduces bm. just give what you can. less is still better than none. that's what I told myself! you are doing well mummy! stay positive!

My little one mostly takes formula and latches only in the middle of the night. I also pump to keep a stash in hope that we can use it when there is enough. My little one drinks quite a substantial amount which I’m unable to keep up with. But as mentioned, fed is best! Whatever way possible. :) Cheer up and hang in there!!

My first pregnancy- supply only lasted 3 mths- my menses came and supply just stopped. Yields 10-20ml per session. Current - 30-60ml per session, hopefully can last longer. But I don’t feel guilty about mixing FM and BM, agree fed is best
Yes I mixed when low supply. Fed is best. No need to feel guilty or compare with others. It is absolutely not wrong to feed formula. Most important is baby is fed and healthy and mummy is healthy and happy
thank u for making me feel less alone :)
