I’ve not gone through it myself, but my cousin had an endometrial polyp removed a few years ago. If I remember correctly, hers was done under light sedation/day surgery, so she didn’t really feel much during the procedure. The actual procedure was quite fast, around 20–30 mins, but she was at the clinic/hospital longer for preparation and recovery. Her symptoms were mainly spotting between periods and heavier bleeding than usual. After the polyp was removed, those symptoms improved quite a bit. If you have bad anxiety, do let your gynae know upfront. My cousin was very nervous too, and her doctor explained everything beforehand which helped reassure her. Different doctors may offer different options (LA, sedation or GA) depending on the size/location of the polyp and your comfort level. Hope some mums here who have personally gone through it can share their experience too. Wishing you all the best! ❤️
Hi mama, I had an endometrial polyp removed via hysteroscopy under light sedation, and the procedure itself was quite quick (around 20–30 minutes). Most of the time was spent on preparation and recovery. 😊 My symptoms were spotting between periods and heavier bleeding than usual. If you have anxiety about procedures, do let your gynae know beforehand—they can discuss sedation options that may help you feel more comfortable. Wishing you all the best, mama ❤️
Thanks for sharing, greatly appreciated. May I know who is your gynae? And how long do you have to fast prior to this procedure?
Hi mama, many women have their polyps removed under light sedation, and the procedure is usually quite short (around 20–30 minutes). Common symptoms include spotting between periods and heavier bleeding. If you have significant anxiety, it may be worth discussing sedation options with your gynae beforehand. ❤️
