Eh, my friend actually went to Mount Elizabeth Novena last year for a laparoscopic procedure and she said the nurses were really reassuring lah, one of them, she described as very calm and patient, kept checking in on her before they wheeled her in, helped her manage the nerves a lot. For the spouse question, my friend said her husband could accompany her to the pre-op area on the same level and wait just outside until they rolled her in, so you're not separated too early, that part she was quite grateful for. That said, a couple of mums in my group felt the experience can vary depending on which nurse you get on that shift, so it's not 100% consistent across the board. Overall though, more positive than negative from what I've heard, especially for the surgical ward care, most felt well looked after during recovery too.
