My kid has this habit of biting his nails. How can I correct this habit of his?

Try to tell him, there is bacteria and germs? 🦠 Last time my mom used to say she will apply chilli on my nails to scare me cause I keep biting everyday every moment whenever I am not occupy with things. It’s a habit.
