Congratulations on your pregnancy! It's totally normal to feel anxious about what foods are safe to eat during early pregnancy. While it's important to be mindful of what you consume, try not to stress too much. When it comes to heaty or cooling foods in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it's true that some believe certain foods can affect the balance of your body's "qi". However, there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer, and it's best to consult with a TCM practitioner who knows your specific health needs. As for general food guidelines during early pregnancy, it's recommended to avoid high-mercury fish, raw or undercooked meat, unpasteurized dairy products, and deli meats. It's also a good idea to wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly to remove any potential bacteria. In terms of fruits, the key is moderation. Some fruits like papaya and pineapple are believed to have heat-inducing properties, so it's best to consume them in moderation. However, there's no need to completely eliminate them from your diet unless your doctor advises otherwise. Remember, every pregnancy is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. Once you schedule your doctor's appointment, you can discuss any concerns or dietary restrictions based on your specific health needs. In the meantime, focus on nourishing your body with a balanced diet, staying hydrated, and getting plenty of rest. Good luck on this beautiful journey of motherhood! #pregnancy #FTM https://invl.io/cll6she

in my first pregnancy, i was very meticulous about what i consumed. i don't even drink coffee until i stopped breastfeeding @ 6 months after baby was born. now on my second one, i indulge alot and i craved for coffee and spicy foods in my first trimester. i would advice to just avoid pineapples (young ones), (i've read about young papayas to avoid too), foods that are too spicy (leads to heartburn and gastric) and limit caffeine intake - coffee & tea.

I also have a “weak body” according to my tcm doc and was told to not consume fruits, fried, cold and spicy food even before I was pregnant. However I had bad nausea and food aversion in first tri, so i just ate what i could (lot of fruits, yoghurt, salad). At 4mths i went back to “tiao” my body. I start to gain back my appetite abt wk16 and then i try to reduce my intake of cold stuff. Don’t worry so much.

don't drink too much tea as it will lower your iron. eat your supplements, folic acid, avocados. I avoided all processed food and basically tried to eat as natural as possible. No pineapple, no long Del Monte banana etc

since when no bananas?! My gynae said it was ok as I shared that I eat acai bowls often

Just eat everything u want in moderation. Coffee limit to once a day. Its okay dont stress urself or google too much
