Isn't schooling for younger kids an institutional killing of their personal freedom?
There's a popular Bible phrase (I'm not Christian) which goes like this: There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: http://biblehub.com/ecclesiastes/3-1.htm There's a time for play so naturally there will be a time for serious study. Our schools in Singapore are gradually incorporating project based learning and learn-through-play concepts in their curriculum. Schooling for children is not purely about learning academics. Well, most of the kids now-a-days like to go to school because of the interactive and creative way of teaching. Plus they get to play and interact with different kinds of kids.I won't say it's completely killing the freedom rather it teaches them how to interact with the external world.

Hi, well this is debatable many countries allow schooling from 7 yrs and many start as early at 18 months, i think its a very personal decision which should be taken only by parents keeping in mind their circumstances and what do they want for their kid.
Upto 2 -3 years its okay if your child is not going to school but it is really important to learn things socialise with people which can be done only in schooling .So I think it is necessary for every child to go to school for few hours a day .
