Is it ok to colour hair when i'm breastfeeding? how will it (if it does) affect my LO?

i wanted to rebond my hair however the salon i went to said no when im still breastfeeding. they say that the chemical is quite strong & may affect breastmilk. so to play safe, i only did hair treatment.
