You would be compromising his immunity by not giving him the second dose. The two doses work in tandem to provide a child with the right protection. The first does will prime his immune system while the second dose will provide the immune protection. Children who only get one dose but need two doses can have reduced or no protection from a single dose of flu vaccine. Two doses are necessary to protect these children.
