Is diarrhea a symptom of teething?

Hi! When my son started to have diarrhea and slight fever, we went to his pediatrician for consult. He said that they call it as “teething virus”. He explained that when tooth is erupting, they want something to bite that can relieve the discomfort of their gums. Our babies are biting anything that they see that can cause diarrhea. He suggested to give him teether preferably cold, which eases the swelling of the gums. Anything cold that he can bite and swallow like cold fruits.
