TTC tips for 2nd Pregnancy
I’m a mum of a 2 yo. I’ve been wanting to try for a second one but I keep getting negative results. I’m also 30 this year. Any tips or advices on how can I improve my fertility so that there’s a chance to be pregnant again? Is there any supplements that ai can take?

Hi mama! Carla has shared some really solid advice already so I just want to add a few more things that might help. Firstly, at 30 with a proven fertility history you are genuinely in a good position so try not to let the negative tests get you too down. Secondary infertility is more common than people realise and does not mean something is wrong. A few additional tips: Track your ovulation properly. If you are not already using OPKs (ovulation predictor kits), start now. They detect the LH surge that happens 24 to 36 hours before ovulation and are much more reliable than counting days from your period. Cycle lengths can vary month to month so guessing the timing can mean missing the window entirely. Consider your lifestyle factors. Sleep, stress levels, and diet all genuinely affect fertility. With a 2 year old, sleep deprivation and stress are very real and can affect your cycle regularity and hormone balance. Even small improvements help. On supplements, beyond folic acid or a prenatal vitamin, some mummies find CoQ10 helpful for egg quality and Vitamin D is worth checking as deficiency is common in Singapore despite the sunshine (SPF and indoor living means many of us are actually low). That said, do check with your doctor before adding anything new. Give it time but also know when to seek help. General guidance is to see a doctor if you have been trying for 12 months without success under 35. But given you have a clear record and are actively trying, seeing your gynae sooner to just rule anything out is not a bad idea and will give you peace of mind. Rooting for you mama. Your number 2 will come! 🤍
Read moreHey mama, this is actually quite normal even for #2 At 30, your chances are still good. Even with perfect timing, chances each cycle are only around 20-25%, so a few negative months can happen. Main thing doctors usually say is timing. If you can, try to catch your ovulation window (few days before + ovulation day). That makes the biggest difference. For supplements, the standard one is just folic acid / prenatal. The rest, better to check with a doctor first. If you’ve been trying close to a year (or cycles not regular), that’s usually when they suggest doing a check just to be sure everything’s okay, for both you and your partner. You’re not alone in this, a lot of mums go through the same when trying for #2

Try to take supplements like folic acid, vitamin D and Omega 3 and take a good well balanced diet. Avoid being over weight or under weight.
