Alone or with mil?

I'm having detailed scan next month, and it fells on my spouse shift. My husband asked me if he cant make it , i ask his mom to accompany. But i rather go alone tho. How do i say it nicely? Cause ive tried but it didnt end well. For me i feel uncomfortable to do so as i cant be myself.
