Baby wearing during pregnancy. Which trimester to stop?
Hi I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant and I often baby wearing my 11months old. For quite a period of time. At which trimester I should stop baby wearing my girl?

Many mums I know continued babywearing well into the second trimester without issues, but most started reconsidering around 28, 30 weeks when the bump gets bigger and the pressure on the lower back and pelvis becomes quite noticeable. The main trade-off is carrier type, a structured buckle carrier tends to distribute weight better across your hips and shoulders compared to a ring sling, which sits more unevenly and can strain your back more as your belly grows. My neighbour actually switched from her ring sling to a soft-structured carrier around 20 weeks and found she could comfortably carry her toddler a bit longer into the third trimester that way. Some mums manage short carries even in the third trimester with no problem, while a few had to stop earlier due to pelvic girdle pain or just feeling too uncomfortable, so it really does vary person to person. It is worth bringing this up with your gynae or midwife at your next visit, since they can factor in your specific pregnancy and health history.
