8th week pregnant

Hi all, I'm 8th week pregnant now and super super bloated. Its my second pregnancy and my stomach looks like 4 months pregnant... constipated, and with frequent Gerd. Anyone know if this is normal? And any remedies?

Oh yes, this is totally normal, the bloating and GERD at 8 weeks can be really uncomfortable, and second pregnancies sometimes show earlier too, so don't worry! What seemed to help most mums I know is eating smaller, more frequent meals instead of three big ones, cutting out carbonated drinks, and adding more fibre-rich foods to keep things moving. For constipation specifically, my neighbour mentioned her gynae recommended glycerin suppositories as a safer option during pregnancy, and she said it gave relief without too much fuss, though some mums found they needed to use it carefully and not rely on it too often. Staying well-hydrated (aim for around eight glasses of water a day) and going for short walks regularly can also help with both the bloating and digestion overall. That said, since everyone's pregnancy is different, it's really worth checking in with your own doctor or gynae before trying anything, just to be sure it's suitable for you!
