Folic acid

Hello, I'm at 3 weeks and have yet to visit the gynae. Would like to know does gynae usually advise that folic acid 5mg (off the shelve at guardian) is good enough or should one consume more supplements? Thanks.

Folic acid is good enough. The gynae will only prescribe pregnancy multi vit when nearing end of the first trimester. Some people do take multi vit though, but my gynae says it’s not necessary at first trim.

My doctor gave me only folic acid. Week 12 onwards then start giving me multi-vitamins which also contains folic acid inside. :)

Folic acid from guardian is the same. You can take some pre-natal supplements as well

You can take the prenatal vit that also has folic in it

Yes. Those off shelf from guardian is good enough

yes, folic acid off the shelf is good enough

Folic acid and DHA are the basics
