Hi all! I'll be having my second kid come December, and I'm in a dilemma whether to engage a confinement nanny. I currently have a helper and a 2-year old kid.
Pros: nanny can take night duty and cook and prepare meals well. Allow me to rest at night and eat freshly cooked food.
Cons: With a helper alrdy, I don't need help for housework nor laundry. Secondly, I'll also need to wake to pump even if I don't have to take care of the newborn. But I'm also concerned that my helper will be overwhelmed by the sudden increase in workload as she is already looking after my 2-year old at night, though I'll be looking after the newborn myself mostly. And of course, the cost for hiring a nanny is quite expensive, so I'm hesitant..
For those who had engaged a confinement nanny for your second child while having a helper, may I ask why/why not?
