If you were Maxine Medina's mom, what would you tell your daughter amidst all the bashing on social media?

If I had to keep myself in her mom's position, I would tell her that English is not her first language and instead of looking at the hindsight, it is so brave of her to attempt in the language which is not hers, and that too without fear on a platform where she had known that she would be judged. I would have told her to give a deaf ear to social media bashing and keep her focus on her aim.

I would tell her that she should not ruin her peace of mind for something as frivolous as this as everyone in the world is not doing and aiming towards a goal and since they are idle, they spend time and derive pleasure in pinning others down. I would tell her that your family knows who you are and knowing a language or not doesn't define you so she need not bother about this.

I'll just keep on giving her words of encouragement. I have to make sure that my daughter doesn't lose her self confidence, considering that she is in front of the public and media all the time. I will do everything to help boost her self esteem and sheer away those negative vibes

Mind your own business. I'll tell my daughter. Let them hate you all they want. If you win, stay humble and thank them for inspiring you to work harder.

No matter what happens, Ill defend my daughter against all her bashers. Because Ill take a bullet for her.
