i just gave birth last sunday, first time mom. pumped my first milk of 30ml. 2nd pump 10ml😅. 3rd pump nothing came out. since then no milk at all... i stopped pumping despite nurses pushing me to pump. my nipple super sore & i don’t wish to hurt myself more since i am already in so much pain after labour. my husband prepared a small tin of formula. the thing is i already bought a breast pump at home, a cheap one Real bubee. so i don’t want to waste. 2nd day discharge, i tried pumping, to my surprise i have milk produced. pumped 15 mins each breast to get 30ml. i was happy already. 3rd day i started to have mild milk engorgement, luckily my malay auntie massage my breast. ever since... my milk from 30ml each session, it became 150ml each session. don’t give up my dear. just keep pumping. & standby formula. the baby get best of both worlds.☺️☺️
I consulted an LC around 1.5mths pp because i was hoping to bf exclusively but we had to top up due to low supply. I was told to give baby half her feed in the bottle first and finish off by latching. Also power pumped. By around 3months when i was already confident with my supply, we didn't have to top up with fm anymore, and I'm still breastfeeding her now at 11months. It's important to keep hydrated. I also diligently pump every 3 hours during the early days, even after latching.
after latching, the milk only comes out a little if i pump. that is okay too?
Hi, I think you should not worry about BF as the most important thing is to keep the baby fed. But do keep pumping regularly everyday which will increase the breast milk supply as well
Don’t fret over Low supply. A well fed baby is most impt, regardless of formula or BM. Don’t worry ya.
Actually nothing wrong with FM, your baby needs food and you’re providing it.
You can boost your supply by taking more oats power pump etc have you tried it?
