I totally get that mixed feeling, it's such a big decision, especially being first time round! Honestly, I think it depends on your support system and how you're feeling post-delivery. Some mums I know managed without one because they had really hands-on partners or parents at home, but they said the first few weeks were exhausting and they wish they'd had more sleep. Others felt so much more confident having someone experienced around, especially for things like latching issues or knowing what's normal with the baby. Since your due date is so close to CNY, a confinement nanny might actually be really practical, your family will probably be busier than usual with visiting and prep, so having someone dedicated to the baby and recovery meals could take a lot of pressure off. My friend went with STAR Confinement Nanny for her first and said the experience was so reassuring because the nanny was really experienced and calm, which honestly helped her feel less panicked about every little thing the baby did. If you're leaning towards trying without one, maybe see how you feel in the first week and have a backup plan? But if budget allows, I'd say it's worth the peace of mind, especially with CNY chaos around the corner. What does your partner think?
Hi there! If you’ll be alone with the baby, I would suggest yes get one. Cause as a first time mum, you’ll be overwhelmed, and you actually should take this first month to really rest up and recover. Giving birth is a huge procedure and really takes a toll from the mum. You’ll have all the time you want with the baby after nanny leaves, so you’re not missing anything out! You can also learn some tips and tricks from nanny too to make your journey more enjoyable than stressing out what to do , what not to do. If you planning to get one, just a heads up that CNY has surcharges so the one I got she’s charging 1k more than usual. My EDD is 9th Feb 2027! 🙂But that’s the market rate and CNY is a hot period , do go secure one asap if you can! Agency might be a little costlier than freelance nannies but if anything were to happen, you won’t be left alone cause agency will always assign another nanny for you. So maybe you can explore that! I’m using freelance nanny but the ones I know are all booked up already so I would suggest agency might be safer for you🙏🏻
