Hwo to limit 3yr old screen tim without them crying like hell.

I’m trying to limit my 3-year-old son’s screen time. We agreed that he can only watch at certain times, and I even use a timer so he knows when the time is up. However, when the timer goes off, he keeps asking for more time. Sometimes I would ask him long he wants to watch (like 5 minutes), set a timer he get to start and stop, but when it ends he still wants more and will cry very badly or even throw things. Has anyone successfully limited their toddler’s screen time without these big meltdowns? I would really appreciate any tips or strategies that worked for you.

You just have to be firm and let him cry. Be consistent. Timer rings. That’s it. No more 5 mins. Good to countdown with him. 10 more mins before the timer will ring then we need to say bye to the iPad/tv. Then repeat every 5 min, 1 min. Timer rings. Off everything. Just let him cry. Hug him when he calms down. After crying is done, make sure he picks up whatever he throws
