The nausea without actual vomiting is so common at week 5, honestly most mums I know went through this phase where it felt relentless but the actual throwing up never came. What helped my friends was eating smaller, more frequent meals and keeping crackers or plain biscuits by the bed for when they woke up hungry, since that empty stomach feeling seemed to trigger it worse. You might also want to check with your PD or gynae about what's safe to take if the nausea gets unbearable, just so you're not suffering through it unnecessarily. Hang in there, it does usually ease up after the first trimester for most people.
