Breast abscess

Hi I am a month pp, going for incision and drainage procedure for breast abscess. Doctor advised to stop breastfeeding as the milk will delay the recovery . Dr will prescribe medication to stop milk production. Any mummy can share if you encounter the same before? Do you stop breastfeeding or continue?
