Super Mum

I think it depends on the blood glucose reading. When you went to your gynae initially, the reading (it was a single reading) could have been borderline high hence the advice that was given. When you went to KKH later on, the reading could have been extremely high/clear cut in the diabetic range. Hence, they gave you medicine. Your gynae then said to continue it because now your gynae knows that your reading has gone up to diabetic levels, and since you’re following up in the diabetic clinic in KKH, they are monitoring regularly and are in a better position to adjust your medications or see if you still need to continue with them. Rather than it being contradicting advice, I think it’s actually complementary management between the 2 places, and I’m glad you had that visit to KKH and got the high glucose level picked up so that you can keep it good during your pregnancy for the safety of your baby. Hope all goes well with you ❤️

Hi just would like to share that i failed my sugar level test by a mere 0.1 at kkh and they were so strict about it. I had it go to ogt class and even buy a blood test kit along with learning how to eat a balance meal. Even had to go follow up with a dietician to make sure i was eating right when i was pregnant. I always hear pple ard me saying that kkh is bad etc but to think about it, i am so thankful till today that they were very strict about this. I wouldn’t know what will happen to my baby if i continue to eat unhealthy food. For now please continue to monitor your sugar / carbs intake. Do your blood readings regularly. Take long walks after each meal to help bring down your sugar level and i’m sure all will be well :) all the best and take care!

Rightfully if your reading is beyond the normal range, your gynae shud advise you to watch your diet and monitor your sugar reading. I have issues with my reading as well. My gynae (private) referred me to specialist to ensure that everything is okay before I start to ttc. And she even monitor all my readings once I was pregnant.
