Hi mama, first of all congratulations on your successful FET and please know your anxiety is completely valid and understood by so many of us here. A few things that might help ease your mind a little: Dating by embryo transfer date and dating by early scan measurements don't always match up perfectly, especially at this very early stage. At 5 weeks, even a tiny difference of a few days in how the embryo implanted and started growing can shift the measurements by a week. A 2mm embryo with a visible heartbeat is actually a really positive sign at 5 weeks. The heartbeat is the most important thing right now. That is what matters most at this stage and you have that. Gynaes can sometimes come across as cautious or neutral in their language during these early scans and it can feel discouraging even when there isn't necessarily cause for alarm. The fact that he scheduled a follow-up scan in 3 weeks rather than sooner suggests he isn't in panic mode, he just wants to monitor growth as he should. Three weeks feels like forever to wait, I know. But that window actually gives the baby meaningful time to grow so the next scan will show much clearer development and give you and your gynae a much better picture. You've come so far to get here. Hold onto that heartbeat. It's doing its job. 🤍
