1st time mum nightmare empty shell

i had embryo transfer , thinking it will be nice christmas gift to myself 😅 4 week later the doctor have a review - hcg level : 1153 , and scan hence the sac but no yolk ( 2mm x 3mm x 2mm) 6 week before appt i have bleeding on my panty linear ( DO NOT EVER HAD SEX during pregnancy) When to kkh a&e , they also could not find where the bleeding came from... but they still tell me by this time your sac still cant see viable yolk (5mm x 4mm x 5mm)🫠 just a dot.. (start to cry - tears of sadness) I have bleeding for a weeks now, somedays spotting , some day bleeding dark brown blood with clots ,all on panty linear. Hence, kkh a&e doctor just increase my medication (dydrogesterone) 3x a day. Told me is either work in good way or it will flush out by itself as miscarrage.. 23 jan - when back to kkh a&e due to holiday no other hospital or clinic gynae on shift.. hence, get the same results as expected. Sac still look intact with no yolk 25 jan - heavy bleeding with batch of clots size of my hand, start coming out 😪😱😭( start to think the worst of this pregnancy at 12am in the morning.. Friend intro me gynae , hope is not too late 🤞 Guess what - baby sac intact but... worst news ever there's nothing in your sac = blighten ovum pregnancy. The body keep bleeding cause the baby stop growing at week 5 of your pregnancy. And my body trying to clear the sac waste in my body 🫠. Now is.. wait for my body to push it out or do suction discharge.. everyone telling me is gonna be painful.. miscarrage Tips for 1st pregnancy- get a gynae check as early as possible.

Oh dear, first of all, please know you are not alone in this, what you went through sounds absolutely exhausting and heartbreaking, and you handled it with so much strength. A blighted ovum is genuinely one of the harder diagnoses because your body still produces pregnancy hormones and the sac keeps growing, so everything feels real right up until it isn't, it is not your fault at all, and it does not mean future pregnancies will go the same way. From what I have heard from others who have been through this, the suction (D&C) route tends to have manageable pain and a faster, cleaner recovery compared to waiting it out naturally, which can drag on with heavy bleeding and cramping for days, though honestly, natural miscarriage works fine for some, it really depends on your body and your mental state at the time. My friend went through a D&C at a private gynae after a similar experience and she said the procedure itself was quick, the pain after was more like bad period cramps, and she felt physically recovered within a week or two, though emotionally it took longer. I won't sugarcoat it, the emotional side is real and it does linger, so please lean on people around you and do not rush yourself to "be okay." That said, do discuss both options properly with your new gynae so you can decide what suits your body and your situation best, they will give you the most accurate picture.
