Blood test results.

Hi i just gotten my blood test results and they stated there syphilis " weakly reactive" and also HIV screen " Non- Reactive". can anyone explain to me what does it mean? cos the doctor im seeing now doesnt explain much and he say theres nothing to worry but of i am. why didnt they just put "Negative" instead of that? Thanks ;)
