First trimester

I just found out that my wife is pregnant. Positive with the preg test. Now, we're waiting for our appt to see the doctor to double confirm. What troubles me, is that my wife seems more tired and weak. She might be feeling ill due to the heavy workloads at work. Or issit because it's her first trimester? Will it affect the baby that's growing? Is it advisable to eat panadols? Or any medication? First time dad. Caring for his wife #advicepls

Totally normal during the 1st trimester. Let her sleep and rest whenever she wants cos her body is going through alot of hormonal changes hence the exhaustion. If she has started morning sickness, it'll be worse. But fret not, she'll start to feel a lil better in the 2nd trimester (hopefully, though not all). Do try to avoid taking panadols or self meditate w/o gynae's prescription which may or can be risky for her pregnancy. Remind her to take folic acid daily which is very important for baby. When she reach her 3rd trimester it'll be back to exhaustion plus aches and pains everywhere. She might also suffer from insomnia. So happy to know that you care for your wife cos not every husband does. All the best with her pregnancy!

Yes it's common. I was super lethargic and sleepy with no appetite during my initial weeks. But luckily it got better soon and I didn't have much of morning sickness n nausea as well. My second trimester was very smooth. Currently in 3rd trimester and comparatively a little tired now. It's better to not take panadol. If she has fever then may be she can take regular panadol but if possible better to avoid. Do start on folic acid tablets if you haven't. You don't need to wait until Doc's confirmation for folic acid. It's a must until week 12 for baby's neuro and spine developments. So the earliest you start the better 😊 All the best to you and your wife

1st trimester tends to b more tired and with bad appetite. I lost almost 4kg. Even now I’m in my 2nd trimester. Every day I need like 10-12 hrs of sleep. Not advisable to take Panadol or any medication unless prescribed by gynae.
