currently at 36 weeks pregnancy and I will be delivering at kkh

I am a foreigner on epass and same with my husband. I will be going for an elective c section on this 27th march, ie in 1 week from now... the admission office said that I will have to pay the entire amount upfront as deposit. which is like 14.5k sgd... I wasn't sure on this first, so I just wanted to ask other moms if they have any idea on the deposit amount. I will be opting for a1 ward. #a1wardkkhdeposit

I really feel for you, that is such a large amount to have to prepare all at once especially when you are already so close to your due date. From what I know, KKH does require a deposit upfront and for foreigners it tends to be higher since there is no Medisave or subsidy involved, so the 14.5k for A1 ward with a C-section does sound like it could be in the right ballpark lah. I would suggest calling the KKH billing office directly to ask if they can give you a written breakdown of the estimate, and also check if your company insurance or your husband's EP benefits can cover any portion before you pay out of pocket.
