There’s a risk of listeria on rock melon. I think about 3/4 years ago there was a listeria outbreak that caused a major recall of rock melon. Listeria when consumed can have pretty bad effects. If the melon is clean and not tainted with salmonella or listeria, it’s actually a great fruit to eat in moderation.
