Cribs Vs Playard/Pack and Play for newborns

I think a playard like those Pack and Play can be used for 2-3 years. You can just “park” your kid in that while you do chores. By then they can already stand and play in it. And it’s easier to pack, more durable as well. I wanted to get the wooden crib cause it’s pretty and nice but in the Long term? I don’t think I would want my baby to get hit by the wooden planks around it as she grows.. But to each their own! ☺️
