Green papaya salad

I ate a bowl of green papaya salad...searched online and some said it's ok. Any non-negative experience to share here?

unripe papaya is a nono. even my friend’s thai wife stopped eating in her second pregnancy because she had a miscarriage. my gynae also advised against it.
