Tired and just want oreos

I am 28 weeks pregnant. I was so energised yesterday and felt great, but today, I'm just so tired and my brain was so foggy. I kept making mistakes on my work. I took a 1 hr nap during my lunch break, woke up, felt great and mentally refreshed, and went back to work. It's been 2 hours since my nap, I am starting to feel tired again and I just want to procrastinate and eat oreos. I have eaten 6 oreos before my lunch, I know it's bad, shame me if you want to. But is there anyone relate? 🙃

Oh, you're so not alone, this is literally third trimester life! Your progesterone levels are naturally climbing right now, which is why the fatigue hits like a wave, and honestly, six Oreos is not something to shame yourself over at all. Your body is telling you it needs energy and rest, so listen to it. That said, a lot of mums I know swear by the basics when the fog gets bad: staying properly hydrated throughout the day (I'm talking proper water, not just sipping), eating protein and balanced meals so your blood sugar doesn't crash, and getting outside for even 15 minutes of fresh air and sun, it genuinely seems to help with both energy and clarity. Some mums also find that going to bed a bit earlier, if they can swing it, breaks the afternoon crash cycle. And if you can manage some gentle movement, even a short walk, it sounds counterintuitive, but it does give a little boost rather than making you more tired. Your nap worked today, so trust that you need the rest. The brain fog and tiredness are real pregnancy symptoms, not laziness, so be kind to yourself. If it gets really extreme or you're concerned, worth checking in with your gynae, but mostly it's about working with your body right now rather than fighting it.
