Husband has been snoring a lot and really loud. How do I know if it's simply snoring or sleep apnoea? His father who used to snore a lot, too, got a stroke before he died

better to ask your hubby to get a test. since you mentioned his dad had a stroke and snored a lot as well. chances may seem higher for him I suppose.
