How to continue breastfeeding once a baby's teeth come? Won't they bite you?

By right they do not bite while feeding as the mechanics of latching causes the tongue to be in between your breast and their teeth. It is during those instances before and after latching that they bite as they are playing or impatient while waiting for let-down. Do not yelp in pain as it may startle baby and cause him to have phobia latching. Some babies may also take it as you're playing with them and continue to bite! Some babies bite and some don't. Even if they do it could last for a week to a few months. It's not a permanent thing so we just need to wait out the phase. When baby bites just remove your breast and tell him firmly that he shall not nurse if he bites, then offer the breast again and repeat when required. To prevent biting, ensure that baby has a good latch on your breast. Maintain lots of eye contact while nursing and talk to him to distract him.
