How to talk to 16 years old boy

I have a 16 yo. I "discuss" with him. He take it really well. I used to talk to him by telling him what went wrong or right..... we ended up with me screaming at him. Now I ask for his opinion on things and we discuss about it. We are enjoying our "discussion" session and he said he really appreciate these sessions. He is also more receptive to what I said too.
