Hunger Cues

Monitor the time intervals and baby’s movements. He/she may move lips, rooting, fussing before crying out loud.

Rooting, searching for food. Trying to eat their hands.

Mouth movement e.g. sucking do indicate hungry

Mouth will have the suckling pattern.

Mouth trying to look for the nipple.
