No tricks to that. Be genuine, communicate openly, trust and be trusted. Your care and concern for him will show naturally. Communicate openly to minimize miscommunication. Making assumptions and thinking that the other party "knows" what you are thinking will often lead to misunderstandings, and in turn, arguments and discontentment. These will become potential roadblocks for any relationship. Just sharing my personal opinions. :)
