How can i get ride of pacifier from my son ?! He cant sleep without it . Even when he is sleep he still sucking it ! Please help

What i did to my son is cold turkey. I throw e pacifier to rubbish bin then rough it over for a week. He finally forgotten about t after endless nights for a week
