What to expect during admission?

Hiiii! Had my check up yesterday at 38 weeks and I was told na for admission na ako tomorrow after nila ako i-IE. Andaming terms na sinabi na hindi nagprocess sa utak ko as a first time mom kaya hindi ako nakapagtanong agad sa OB, nagmamadali din kasi sya since supposedly half day lang sila kahapon due to holiday. They made me take EPO and HEME. Ask ko lang, what happens or what to expect during admission? Ayoko na po mabigla, I know it will be for labor na but happebs exactly during admission?

Uy, congrats on reaching 38 weeks! Okay so basically pag nag-admit ka, they'll take your vitals first, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, lahat yan, tapos mag-IE (internal exam) ulit para ma-check kung gaano ka-dilate na at kung ready na talaga ang cervix mo for labor. A few of us found na sobrang important i-prepare ang documents, ID, insurance info, lahat, para walang hassle during check-in, kasi abang-abang lang sila once you're in active labor na. After na yun, they'll move you to the labor room at babantayan ka throughout, especially since first time mom ka kaya pwedeng mas matagal ang early labor phase. One of my mum friends said parang peaceful lang naman ang waiting period, pero depends talaga sa hospital, iba-iba kung may wifi, kung pwede kasama ang partner the whole time, stuff like that. Just bring your maternity bag ready na with comfort items, snacks for your partner, extra clothes, lahat. Honestly, don't hesitate to text or call your OB ulet if kailangan mo ng clarification on the EPO and HEME or anything else, better safe than sorry, especially since first time ka pa lang! Good luck, mama, you've got this!
